The Maxfield Parrish photo

The other day I was looking through my images on my phone and found a photo that I had taken of the sky just before the moment of sunset, as the sun recedes into the horizon.

Oh the colors! The photo actually quite didn't do the real thing justice but it was still a cool moment captured in time ...

It immediately reminded me of the American artist, Maxfield Parrish (1870-1966), whose works were lush with hues of rich crimsons, violets and golds. He was a narrative painter( a painter whose work tells stories) and his paintings depicted stories which varied from Greek mythology to everyday Americana (20th century American lifestyle).

Of course, nothing takes the place of Nature in all its glory... but there are rare moments when we humans try to capture a bit of its beauty, and sometimes, if we are lucky, we can come up with something almost as beautiful.
