Hey Steemit!
We're back again with another Art Attack! If you're new to the series, this is where I share my drawings and the process behind them. A behind-the-scenes look at my artwork, if you will. This is not to say that I'm very good at art, or that I'm a professional in any way. In fact this is the opposite, and serves as a reminder to how I first started, and lets me track my progress too!
So last week, I shared a piece I did for Linktober 2020! If you're unfamiliar Linktober is a spinoff of the monthly art challenge, Inktober, where there's a daily prompt and you're supposed to do an ink drawing everyday based on the prompt!

I'm not sure why the post was hidden for some reason, but anyway, since I started late on Day 20, I tried my best to keep up my daily streak so I got to work on Day 21! This prompt for this was pretty straightforward - Ancient, and you have plenty of choices for that in practically any Zelda game.
But the first thing I thought of was a Guardian from Breath of the Wild. It's the only Zelda game I've played (although I have watched a couple of playthroughs of other Zelda games), and since Guardians are literally ancient machines created by the Shiekah 10,000 years before the start of the game, it seemed like a perfect fit for this prompt.

And since this is an ink challenge, I decided to try employing more of my minimalist style this time. Here's my sketch:
And after outlining:
I decided to draw a blood moon in the sky to give it a little more contrast and some colour. I know Inktober is technically not supposed to have any colour but I'm a fan of colours so I couldn't resist. And it's still mostly black and white anyway.
I thought of keeping it black and white, but I figured it would look better with the Guardian in colour so that it'll be the focal point even more.
And done! Here's the final look of this piece!
I think my colours might be a little off because I didn't have the right shades in marker pen, but I tried my best to make it look as accurate as possible.
Oh man I remember the first time I saw a Guardian in BotW. The music made my heart race and I was scared out of my mind by the laser zoning in on me. But when I got the Master Sword I gladly went on a Guardian killing spree. They still scared me but at least I could kill them easily.
I was still getting used to doing daily pieces since I draw very slowly, but I think I'm making progress! It's tough to balance between drawing quickly and nicely. I guess I'll just get better with more practise! Remember art is just a skill like any other and you'll only get better with time!
Thanks so much for reading!
