Congratulations to the week #9 winners! Again, I was pleasantly surprised to see a new group of writers joining in on the fun. :)

1st place // @holothewiseA taste for it

For the seventeenth time in February Violet thought about murder. The thrill of it moved in her, a high breastbone, electric feeling as she watched the man across the park. Playing with his dog, laughing in the swirling autumn leaves with the expression of someone trying too hard to be happy. A stupid laugh, braying and grating. The feeling shifted from electricity to something deeper, redder, more lustful. 'There's a fine line Violet,' that voice in the back of her thoughts. The good one. 'Once you cross it, you can never go back.' Will never want to go back the other, sibilant, scratched open like a scab in her mind. Hunger, like a flower, opening in her at its words. She could imagine it, every detail, every smell. Dispassionately and thrilling through her at the same time. His screams raining down around her like so much broken glass drowning out the voices. She could taste it, metal adrenaline on her tongue as he moved to his car. And she to hers. Starting the engine with sweating, trembling fingers...

2nd place // @geekpoweredThe Wedding Dress

She wasn't exactly a poor girl. At least she didn't see herself that way anymore. She did grow up poor. Her family barely had enough to put food on the table and keep her and her 3 brothers and 2 sisters clothed. They struggled a lot. She had been working since she was 16 to help out with the family, waiting tables. She eventually moved out, when she was 22. That was just last year. She still sent money back home. She sent as much as she could afford. She kept enough to pay her bills, and keep her clothed and fed. She didn't let her family know how much she still struggled to help them. She didn't think she needed any more. Now, she stood, just a girl alone, struggling to survive and keep her family alive, with no time for dreams or love, standing before a store window. In that window, stood a beautiful wedding dress, covered in lace and pearls. For but a moment, her heart took flight, and took a chance to dream.

3rd place // @prudent-rod1Eyeball

She woke up early full of excitement. She wore the branded clothes she just bought yesterday and she's rocking it. A make up touched her face for the first time, and the red lipstick embossed her beauty. All she wanted was to look perfect during that night and she did. She went out of her apartment looking sexy and fabulous. She came to the restaurant earlier than him, she waited gracefully and with poise while whispering to herself "Oh my I hope he finds me attractive".
