1st place // @rjd “A Suspect Calls”
It was a case like no other, but to a private eye like me, no two cases are ever the same. The rain was pouring down like all the clouds were being squeezed out with no signs of ever stopping. I looked outside the coffee shop window, waiting for the suspect to arrive. "Whoever you are, I'm gonna catch you this time" I said to myself as I took a sip from my beverage. Then I saw something move beneath the curtains of rain. She walked into that telephone booth like a cat walked between rails, hair cut short and lips stained red, just like how a model like her should look. She had that certain air around her - like she was untouchable - as I watched her reach for the handset and dialed a number. My phone rang and a light smirk appeared on her stained lips. "It's been a while, detective."
2nd place // @felt.buzz “Telephone Time”
"Hello?" she said, her left hand stroking her belly. The line crackled and for a moment she thought the line was dead. Then the line hissed and she heard a faraway voice. "Hello...M… errr… Julia?" A man. She didn't recognise his voice, but the line really was very bad. “Yes. Who is this?" There was a pause, and Julia wondered again if they had been cut off. "You don't know me... yet. But I need to meet with you. It's a matter of life and death." Julia laughed, a little bell of a laugh that tinkled down the line. The caller did not return the laugh. "Life and death?" Julia said. "That's a little bit dramatic, don't you think?" Again, a pause. "I am not exaggerating Julia," the voice said. "What I have to tell you concerns my life... and your death." Julia almost dropped the phone. “Look here,” she said. "I really don't know who you are, but I think you are very rude! A grown man making prank telephone calls! And making threats to a lady. You should be ashamed of yourself!" She was about to put the handset in its cradle, when she heard his response, this time rushed, as if he knew he had to get it all out before she hung up on him. "I am not threatening you, Julia, please believe me! I know this is going to sound a little crazy to you. But please try to keep your mind open… I am calling from the future, Julia. I am your son. "
3rd place // @prudent-rod1 “Enticement”
It's 5 pm, the sun is setting, the room was kinda dim. A shed of light from a decorative lamp made an ambiance of gloom. She was sitting on her swivel chair, typing on her keyboard and doing paper works at the same time. Her boss is just a wall of glass apart. She knew it, she felt it, he keeps in looking at her, not just looking but staring with eyes as if full with hidden desires. She made a short glance through the glass, a smirk was very visible, she finds it attracting, she finds him hot. The rush of desires was all around, from her boss, from hers. Silence was deafening, emotions were enticing then suddenly a loud tone of telephone rang beside her. She grabbed the handset while peeking a glance at her boss, he was on his handset too. She slowly moves the handset near her right ear, "hey, to my office now Ms. Jones".
Thank you so much for those of you who have been waiting for this announcement post for the winners of week #7 and a new story image. I had a sketch set aside to post while I was away on my trip but sadly it was lost. I’ve been experiencing some issues with my iPad Pro. Nothing that would stop be from drawing but typing has been a challenge. My iPad seems to be having issues recognizing my Smart Keyboard so it’s been a pain to write posts for my blog. While I was away I had to do most of my posts on my cellphone....it was a pain. Hopefully, everything will sort itself out with the next software update.
I know I could’ve probably drawn something cheerful for the holidays but I love creepy drawings. I started sketching this image earlier in the afternoon at @caffetto and continued until the evening. I also got a few rounds of magic in and was beat several times by @iamredbar. Not a big deal, I now realize what cards I need to purchase to strengthen my deck. Anywho, I hope you all enjoy the holiday season!!
