After some thunderstorms overnight, the unseasonable heat in the Midwest broke and we are finally experiencing Fall weather today, with temperatures in the low 60°Fs and possible frost expected in outlaying areas.
Sunday was the perfect day to take a brisk walk outdoors in my neighborhood with my faithful four-legged buddy, Sasha. We had missed each other while my family was away touring a college in Indiana and she stayed with my mom.
There was a breeze blowing and the undeniable scents of pinecones, crisp leaves, burning wood, and wildflowers permeated the air as I took in one enthralling breath after another. Inhale. Exhale.
I noticed Sasha even had more pep in her step than usual. She was willing to walk longer than her usual half a street, and she eagerly greeted a new dog she met for a change (she will turn 16 years old In November, God willing).
Thanks for walking with me and I hope you have a TERRIFIC week!
