Now that the Mt. Agung volcano, in Bali, Indonesia, is erupting, it's time to talk to you about the wonders and the life this planet Earth keeps rewarding us, and never ceases to amaze us. Despite the atrocities man is capable of making it back.
In the district of Viqueque, near Uato-Lari, in this country where I live, East Timor, there's a weird place. A place where, on one side of the road (in the other lies the Timor Sea), we can witness a strange phenomenon of fire coming from inside the earth.
This is caused by natural gas burning. It never ceases to burn. Fire from the earth in a rainforest full of coconut trees and vegetation.
There are dozens of small craters expelling fire, showing us that the Earth, like us, is alive... and kicking.
This place is called Babulo.
