Psalm 139:1-6
1 You have searched me, LORD, and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
Hello Steemians, Yesterday I talked about "The Attributes of God. Part One. Unique Attribute of God". Where I talked about God being omnipresent. For further reading visit Here. Today, I will continue with the Unique Attribute of God. As you read along may you be blessed.
God is Omniscient
This means that He knows everything (psalm 136:1-6); He possess complete and perfect knowledge of all things. He knows not only our actions but also our thoughts.
When the Bible speaks of God's foreknowledge (Isaiah 42:9, Act 2:23), it means that He knows all possibilities in any situation- what could have happened and what will happen in the future.
Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. - Psalm 147:5
The Free Will
God has given us the free will to make our own decisions, which means that people are still responsible for their choices and the results of those choices. The fact that God knows everything those not mean that He is limited by His own foreknowledge. He remains free to alter His purposes in time and history. depending on what He wants to accomplish and what He knows is best.
