Street lamps are the evening sun. At present, most of the approximately 146 000 street lamps in Hong Kong's road lighting system are high-pressure sodium lamps. Relevant departments adopt different technologies, including the use of photoreceptors to control the power supply, and they will be regularly maintained to ensure the maximum operating efficiency of the street light system.
The SAR Government will start in 2019 and spend three years introducing a multi-functional intelligent street light system. It will install approximately 400 intelligent streetlights at Central, Admiralty, Causeway Bay, Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kwun Tong and Kai Tak in Kowloon. Intelligent street lights can collect real-time city information, such as real-time traffic conditions, measurement data, air pollution index and so on.
街燈就是晚上的太陽，現時，本港道路照明系統的約146 000盞路燈大部分是高壓鈉燈。有關部門採取不同的技術，包括利用感光器控制電力供應，並會定期維修保養，以確保路燈系統達最高的運作效率。
特區政府將於２０１９年開始，花３年時間引進多功能智能街燈系統，在位於港島的中環、金鍾、銅鑼灣、灣仔，以及九龍尖沙咀、觀塘和啓德，安裝大約４００支智能街燈。智能街燈能夠收集實時城市信息，如實時路況、測量數據、空氣污染指數等。
In the city, even if the shops are brightly lit, there are still street lights on the streets, I think it is electricity waste !
Every time when we arrive at other cities or returns to Hong Kong, we will be excited when see the long streetlights of that city. Unfortunately,I always forget to take pictures. I think everybody know that the lights represent civilization, we saw the instructions of the street lights that means almost to reach the destination!
在城巿裡，就算各大商店燈火通明，街道上仍然不乏街燈，說白點其點有點浪費電力！
每次坐夜機到達其他城巿或回港的時候，將要降落的時候，如果看見那城市長長的路燈，每每都會興奮不已，可惜就是每次都忘了拍照，我想每人心底裡都知道燈火代表文明，看見了路燈的指示，代表快要到達目的地了！
This is a shop selling second-hand items, but you will find that the main items are lighting, the lighting used by the owner is very special, bright lights to attract customers, but I think it is mostly not to buy, before It was a pity that it was about to close down. It was a pity that in Hong Kong, what a wonderful shop is no match for shop rental!
這是一間售賣二手物品的店舖，可是你會發覺主要的物品都是燈飾，店主運用的燈飾非常之有特式，燦爛的燈光招來顧客，可是，我想還是只看不買的居多，之前看見它快要結業了，有點可惜的，在香港，多麼美好的店舖也敵不過鋪租！
