At the end of the New Zealand trip, we flew home from Christchurch and transferred at Auckland, at where, we have a few hours to spare. So we went to the downtown by bus for sightseeing.

New Zealand has many aspects in common with Alaska. Both have snow-capped mountains, glaciers, fjord, marine mammals such as whale, dolphins, and seals, colorful lakes, dense forests, beautiful flowers, aurora, and earthquake. The weather of Alaska was not good when I stayed there, which makes it difficult to take good photos and very hard to see the mighty Mount McKinley. On the other hand, the weather of New Zealand was very good when we stayed. New Zealand has temperate rain forests, which Alaska doesn't have. Alaska has abundant wild land mammals. New Zealand has plenty of birds, but no big wild mammals on the land. The glacier of Alaska is spectacular, longer and wider, when I visited there. Don't know whether it's changed after so many years.

新西兰之旅结束，我们从基督城乘飞机到奥克兰转机。奥克兰是个大都市。利用转机的几小时空档，我们乘公共汽车去市区游览。

新西兰和阿拉斯加有很多共同点，比如雪山，冰川，峡湾，海洋生物动物，湖泊，森林，美丽的野花，极光和地震。我在阿拉斯加德时候那里一直天气不好，很难拍出好照片。由于很少晴天，阿拉斯加雄伟的麦金利山难睹真容。在新西兰时几乎每天都是蓝天白云，连暴雨都很应景。新西兰有阿拉斯加没有的温带雨林。阿拉斯加有苔原冻土，还有很多大型陆地野生动物。阿拉斯加的冰川异常壮观。一条冰川可达两英里宽。这么多年过去，不知是否风景依然。
