Comic Books from the 90s - The Savage Dragon from 1992

The Savage Dragon #1-3 Complete Set (1992) by Image Comics
1 (July 1992) Story and art by Erik Larsen. The man known as the Dragon is found in a field of fire, and without any memory of who he is, or where he's from. Chicago is a city where the super-human villains out number, out gun, and out power the police, and the heroes are falling like flies. Can Lieutenant Frank Darling convince Dragon, perhaps the only person the strength to stand up to the mutants, to join the police department?

2 (October 1992)
"Born Again Patriot!" Story and art by Erik Larsen. There's a new Police Officer in town. His name is Dragon, and he's using his super-human abilities to fight the mutants who terrorize the citizens of Chicago. Super-Patriot was a hero who had fallen in battle against the Vicious Circle and was left for dead. Now, more machine than man, Super-Patriot has returned. But being an officer of the law, Dragon cannot stand idly by while Patriot indiscriminately slaughters the bad guys. But does even the Dragon possess the power to stop a walking weapon of mass destruction?

3 (December 1992)
"Rock this Town!" Guest-starring Badrock. Cameos by Spawn and Shaft. 1st appearance of Nurse (who later turns out to be Mighty Man of Freak Force). Story and art by Erik Larsen. Dragon is hospitalized after his confrontation with the new Super-Patriot. It is discovered that Dragon can regenerate damaged tissue at an amazing rate (he heals real fast). But he's not on his feet for long when he's inexplicably attacked by Badrock, the Boy of Stone. Why would Youngblood's resident strong guy attack an officer of the law? The answer may shock and, at the very least, amuse you.
