Second Largest Bank In South Korea Supports Cryptocurrency Exchanges, Relieves Traders

After Kookmin Bank, the biggest financial institution in the country has stopped supporting cryptocurrency exchanges, many investors were concerned about the abrupt decision of the bank.

Kookmin provides services to two of the biggest cryptocurrency exchanges in South Korea, Bithumb and Korbit, and lot of people feared that other banks would follow the decision too.

Fortunately, Shinhan Bank, the second largest bank in South Korea replaced Kookmin to support deposits and withdrawals to Korbit exchange.

With the positive news, traders were relieved and believed that cryptocurrency ban is far from happening.


OKCoin Reportedly To Launch Exchange To South Korea

Beijing--based cryptocurrency exchange OKCoin is reportedly eyeing to launch in South Korea and could possibly happen as soon as next month.

News say that they are working on a partnership with NHN Entertainment, a South Korean developer, publisher and distributor of PC and monile games, for the venture.

With the current restrictions on cryptocurrencies in SK, OKCoin Korea CEO Cho Jung-hwan assured that they are compliant with all the SK regulatory requirements and there would not be any problems.
