Huobi Registers Crypto Exchange With FinCEN Before Its Launch In The US

The US-based operation of Huobi has been registered as a money services business with the US government.

As of March 21, HBUS Inc. is registered with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).

This happened ahead of the planned rollout of the cryptocurrency exchange this spring, which was announced in January.

As part of its plan to expand to the American market, Huobi opened an office in San Francisco to rollout as a new crypto-only exchange platform in the US.


British Government Minister Calls For Proportionate Cryptocurrency Rules

John Glen, the UK's City Minister told reporters during the Treasury's International Fintech Conference on March 22 that proportionate regulations could bring a significant boost to the local cryptocurrency industry.

He noted that current level of crypto trading and other related activities do not pose any significant risk to the country's economy.

Glen emphasized that taking measured steps is important before encouraging local innovation with more legal clarity.


The US Department Of Treasury Is Offering Advice To Government Agencies Interested In Blockchain

In a blog post published by the US Department of Treasury, they are openly offering advice to other government agencies in the country who are interested in integrating blockchain or distributed ledger technology (DLT) to their internal systems.

The post includes a number of lessons obtained by the officials while exploring with a proof of concept blockchain system.

Also, it advises developers to give extensive time in interviewing stakeholders rather than jumping straight into producing the system.
