πŸ—ž ETH Zero-Proof Prototype Models: Has Ernst & Young Done What Ethereum Could Not?

Multinational auditing and consulting firm, Ernst & Young (EY), announced on October 30 the launch of their EY Ops Chain Public Edition (PE) prototype, the world's first implementation of zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology on the public Ethereum blockchain.

This system aims to overcome three main barriers of current transactions and asset transfers on a public blockchain:

  • The ability for companies to conduct secure transactions on a public network;
  • Lower some of the barriers to more widespread blockchain adoption; and
  • Enable a full traceability trail of private transactions.

πŸ—ž Pro-Bitcoin Governor Elected, Augur Predicts the US Midterms

It was widely predicted that the Democrats would regain control of the U.S. House of Representatives in the midterm elections, not least on decentralized prediction market Augur. The crowd-powered Ethereum application had close to $1.4 million in ETH staked on the outcome of the event, with 97 percent favoring the Democrats. For anyone interested in seeking crowd wisdom on other political events, Augur is currently calling a 36 percent chance of Donald Trump being re-elected in 2020.

In addition to voting for the House and the Senate, U.S. citizens in 36 states cast their vote in gubernatorial elections, including Colorado. There, Bitcoin advocate and pro-tech candidate Jared Polis was elected as governor. The tech advocate and gamer earned a fond place in bitcoiners’ hearts in 2014 when he vowed to fight any attempt by the government to restrict the cryptocurrency’s growth.

πŸ—ž Thai Revenue Department To Use Blockchain To Track Tax Payments

Thailand's Revenue Department will use blockchain technology along with machine learning to improve the tax verification process and study methods used for tax evasion, per a November 5 article in The Bangkok Post.

It reports that Ekniti Nitithanprapas, director-general of Thailand's Revenue Department, wants to utilize blockchain technology to help verify that the correct person paid the correct amount in taxes as well as to decrease the time it takes for citizens to receive a tax return.

πŸ—ž It's Hard to Short Crypto – And That's Propping Up Prices, Study Finds

The contentious nature of the ecosystem around cryptocurrencies is partly what gives them value – academics call it "belief heterogenity."

But discord and personal sentiment alone isn't enough to keep prices above zero, according to research from Wang Chun Wei, Ph.D., a finance lecturer at the University of Queensland in Australia. According to Wei, if it was easier to bet against cryptocurrency prices through short positions – when someone borrows, then sells an asset with the expectation of buying it back at a lower price in an effort to make a profit on the difference – more of those assets would go to zero.

πŸ—ž Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange to Create Infrastructure for Cryptocurrency Assets

The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange has released a paper aimed at creating the infrastructure necessary to accommodate transactions with cryptocurrency-based assets and facilitate the implementation of distributed ledger technologies in the emirate. The platform wants to support financial institutions in their efforts to introduce services related to innovative investment instruments.

STEEM Trading Update by my friend @cryptopassion

Here is the chart of yesterday :

Here is the current chart :

Yesterday, I said to you that we must have a bounce after the test of the support line to validate that this support is strong. Look what happened, we had several touchs on the support line and a bounce started. All this has been easy predicted with the technical analysis. For sure no one can be sure at 100%, but we have higher probabilities with it.
