🗞 Google and Samsung: Cute Cats Power Serious $15 Million CryptoKitties Round
The company behind the viral blockchain phenomenon CryptoKitties is planning to enhance its platform – and it's received backing from some major tech firms to do it.
Announced Wednesday, Dapper Labs, the startup that spun out of parent firm Axiom Zen to continue working on CryptoKitties, has secured $15 million in funding. The round was led by Venrock and was joined by Google Ventures, SamsungNEXT and Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), as well as names not normally associated with venture investing, such as the talent agency William Morris Endeavor and e-sports firm aXiomatic.
The new funding comes months after Dapper Labs secured $12 million in a round led by a16z and Union Square Ventures.
🗞 Ethereum 2.0 Launch ‘Really Not So Far Away,’ Says Vitalik Buterin in Devcon4 Keynote
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin unveiled the roadmap for what he described as the “coherent whole” Ethereum 2.0 in a keynote presentation at the Devcon4 conference in Prague Oct. 31.
Dubbed ‘Serenity,’ the project encompasses multiple projects Ethereum developers have been working on since 2014.
“Ethereum 2.0 is [...] a combination of a bunch of different features that we’ve been talking about for several years, researching for several years, actively building for several years that are finally about to come together in one cohesive whole,” Buterin summarized during his talk.
🗞 Social Scalability Is Ethereum’s Real Promise
Today at Devcon4, Ethereum core developer Lane Rettig gave a talk titled "Towards a Socially Scalable Etherean Future." In it, Rettig announced the launch of an online forum for the social scalability of Ethereum, Etherean.org.
The site's first, pinned discussion thread begins with a statement of the forum's purpose, which is "for high-level discussion, pondering, and scheming," particularly on the topic of how Ethereans can contribute to the positive evolution of social, political and economic systems.

Swiss Life has released the results of a survey of retirement saving by 4,200 Swiss, German, French, Austrian and British nationals.
Highlights include: only 46% are confident about their current financial situation; 42% are worried about not having enough money in retirement; 32% lack confidence in their national pension system. In terms of responsibility for retirement savings, 75% believe it is the individual’s, 44% the state’s.

What a nice Bounce ! Yesterday, I was saying you that the support line was broken and look the chart today. It was just a false break and a trap from the market... Look how the STEEM just did a bounce the next hours. We are even testing the resistance line and we could be able to break it the following hours. If the BTC could continue to do a little up, I'm sure that we will be able to break this resistance line and try to go again in the direction of the 1$.
