That's it ladies and gentlemen. Pack it in, because the now the big boys are coming to play a round of ICO.
The two founders of Telegram, Pavel and Nikolai Durov, have officially filed a "Notice of Exempt Offering of Securities" with the SEC.
According to the official document, the official purpose of the round was for “the development of the TON Blockchain, the development and maintenance of Telegram Messenger.”
By declining to participate in a traditional ICO in favor of filing with the SEC, Telegram has limited potential investors (at least in the US) to US citizens who are worth over $1m or have an annual income of over $200,000.
While the document didn't disclose names of specific investors, a Russian news outlet published a leak naming some of them. On the list was Roman Abramovich, the infamous Russian billionaire who purchased the Chelsea Football Club in 2003.
Located in the British Virgin Islands, the two companies reportedly conducted the ICO in a more traditional way - with good old fashioned dollars and euros.
One thing is for sure - if you're sick of the NSA tapping into your lines of communication, you can just switch to Telegram and say hi to the boys over at the KGB.
это пиздец!
