Leveraging Curation Trails for Increased Visibility on Steem

Hey friend! Today I want to share with you how to leverage curation trails for increased visibility on Steem. Curation trails have been my bread and butter and have helped me to gain more traction and visibility for my posts.

Basically, whenever you publish a post on Steemit, @dtube, Busy.org, or any other application on the Steem blockchain, you have the opportunity to receive a series of upvotes from multiple users all around the same time.

If you've noticed, when certain Steemians put up their content, they get a bunch of upvotes within a short time span of around 0-30 minutes after publishing. This is due partly to other users finding the content and upvoting, but a large majority of the upvotes come from curation trails.

In order to get started taking advantage of these trails, I recommend using a free service called Steem Auto. If you visit https://steemauto.com, you will be able to connect your SteemConnect account to Steem Auto and begin using the service.

Steem Auto has an option to donate to their service, but it is not mandatory. From within this website, you can go into the curation trail tab where you can either join an existing trail, or you can begin your own. The trail that I like the most is called Steempowerment.

Some trails require you to delegate a relatively small amount of Steem Power to the trail, but some you can just join straight away. Once you join a trail, you can then adjust the settings so that your vote will go out to the members of the trail at a certain time and also use only a certain percentage of your voting power.

Now that you have successfully joined a trail, whenever you publish a post, you will be receiving upvotes to your post within seconds or minutes after posting. This is great news since sometimes it can be difficult to get noticed by other Steemians and curation trails provide a means to gaining more traction and visibility.

Another section of Steem Auto is called Fanbase. Fanbase is where you can follow specific users and then upvote their posts on autopilot. This feature is nice if you have friends or family on Steem and want to give them votes while you are out doing other activities and aren't able to check into Steem.

I highly recommend looking into Steem Auto as it has given my posts a nice boost over the past months and I am guaranteed votes with each post.

To see the upvote notifications coming in on each post, I use a free bot service called @ginabot. Ginabot is a @minnowbooster bot that uses Discord to display instant notifications. I recommend coupling Steem Auto with Ginabot in order to track your upvotes as they come in. I may create a tutorial on Ginabot in case you need assistance setting that up.

A stipulation regarding curation trails, is that you want to make sure your posts are valuable. I would not recommend joining curation trails if you are going to be putting out junk posts onto the blockchain just for the sake of getting upvoted.

I hope that this message gave you a better understanding of curation trails and that you will use them to increase your post visibility. If you have questions, please leave them below and I will answer them.

P.S. Join the Steempowerment curation trail that I am on to get regular upvotes from me on your posts. Be sure to also join the Steempowerment Discord Server for the latest info on the trail.
