1. I am @laylahsophia and currently living in Germany, but most of the time with my husband in Egypt. Directly after graduation from school in Germany I studied law, worked then in several jobs as a lawyer and also as a freelance graphic designer, but after around 15 years I got the feeling that it is time for something new in my life. So I studied Egyptology. That's why and also because I met my husband in Egypt, we are now working there as freelancers.

2. I apply for the DaVinci Translation Project because I am convinced that the German-speaking community needs a stronger support regarding blockchain activities and I see the translation of Open Source content into German through Utopian / DaVinci as a very good opportunity for that.

3. My native language is German. I studied different foreign languages such as English, Russian, French (in school) and Arabic (at the university). English is also the language for communication with my Egyptian family since my Arabic is not fluent enough yet. Beside this, I studied antiquities languages like Middle-Egyptian (Hieroglyphs), Akkadian (Cuneiform) and Coptic (a mix of ancient Greek and ancient Egyptian language). In my current occupation as an Egyptologist English is the common scientific language. So I am familiar with translation techniques on a profound level and I would be happy to join the German translation team.

4. I have no experience with Utopian yet.

1. Ich bin @laylahsophia und ich lebe aktuell in Deutschland, allerdings die meiste Zeit mit meinem Mann in Ägypten. Direkt nach dem Schulabschluss in Deutschland habe ich Jura studiert und arbeitete dann in verschiedenen Jobs als Juristin und auch als freiberufliche Grafikdesignerin, aber nach ungefähr 15 Jahren hatte ich das Gefühl, dass es Zeit ist für etwas Neues in meinem Leben. Also habe ich Ägyptologie studiert. Darum, und auch, weil ich meinen Mann in Ägypten getroffen habe, arbeiten wir jetzt dort als Freiberufler.

2. Ich bewerbe mich für das DaVinci Übersetzungs-Projekt, weil ich überzeugt bin, dass die deutschsprachige Community stärkere Unterstützung in Bezug auf Blockchain-Aktivitäten braucht und ich sehe die Übersetzung von Open Source-Inhalten ins Deutsche mit Hilfe von Utopian / DaVinci als sehr gute Möglichkeit dafür.

3. Meine Muttersprache ist Deutsch. Ich habe verschiedene Fremdsprachen gelernt, darunter Englisch, Russisch, Französisch (in der Schule) und Arabisch (an der Uni). Englisch ist außerdem die Sprache der Kommunikation mit meiner ägyptischen Familie, da mein Arabisch noch nicht so fließend ist.
   Daneben habe ich antike Sprachen studiert, wie das Mittelägyptisch (Hieroglyphen), Akkadisch (Keilschrift) und Koptisch (das ist eine Mischung aus Altgriechisch und Altägyptisch). In meinem aktuellen Beruf als Ägyptologin ist Englisch die gemeinsame wissenschaftliche Sprache. Also bin ich mit verschiedenen Übersetzungstechniken bestens vertraut und würde mich freuen, ins deutsche Übersetzungsteam einzusteigen.

4. Ich habe noch keine Erfahrungen mit Utopian.
