Dear friends and supporters,
Jannatul was a regular student of @SchoolForSDG4 for last two years ( April, 2016 to December, 2017 ) . She was so polite and charming little girl. It's time to say her good bye.
Today I visited her house and discussed with his father to know his plan for Jannatul. Jannatul's father is a fish seller. For last 5-6 months he can't work. He is facing foot rotting disease for several month and so can't walk to sell fishes door to door. He even couldn't pay his house rent for last 4 months. So they are going to leave the house by the end of this month.
Last picture with Jannatul tonight.
She will leave city tomorrow and will go to village as city life is so harder for them now. Her father ensured me that she will not stop to go school. Her father will stay in city but Jannatul, her sister and her mother will permanently settle in village.
Today I visited their slum after making a post Late Post : Women Empowerment #needleworkmonday Part- 3 where I also talked about Jannatul and her recent family financial problem. Jannatul's mother was a trainee at @WomenEmpowerment . She now have very nice hand sewing skill. She also bought a sewing machine and knows how to cut clothes perfectly. So my plan was to offer a job for her mother. She could act as trainer for @WomenEmpowerment and the monthly salary could support the family a lot.
Unfortunately the already decided and also it will be hard for me to give big hope as a person. May be I can but this will be over activity and these can't be a permanent solution for the family.
Jannatul mother wished to stay in Sylhet city so she requested for a job about half a month ago. After the training at @WomenEmpowerment she can design and make her own handicraft products for home and neighbours. She showed me some sample of her work she made at home. In the above, a mirror cover was made by her.
Perhaps she did the sewing while thinking about her pain and also she embroidered the name of "Allah" as he is only hope for her life.
Jannatul mother at @WomenEmpowerment and she was paid for the pillow cover hand sewing. But it was just a training work and the products I made just for their training development and kept them as sample. She had a wish to do something in city and empower herself so she can help her family and husband.
Jannatul was holding a gift of popcorn packet sent by @tecnosgirl last year. She is going to miss gifts sent by @girlbeforemirror soon. [Read about the gifts coming to Bangladesh](Sydney to Syhlet Sisterhood. Parcel packed and on the way.)
I wish best of luck for both mother and daughter . Hope they will better life and better future in village.
