My visit to Sumon, Junayed, Alal-Uddin's home to bring them @SchoolForSDG4 .

Dear friends, Today I visited three slums to find out Junayed, Alal-Uddin and Sumon. Long stories but will try to explain shortly. Sumon, Alal-uddin, Junayed stopped to come @schoolforsdg4 for few days. I was discussing with @pennsif about the matter yesterday and he wish to know about it more and update. Today was rainy day here and I went to find Sumon's home in the morning. But I came back because Sumon's family changed their previous slum. Later I took Al-amin who knows their house and we together visited three slums after school hours and talked with their family members except Junayed's family.

Our first visit was Alal-uddin's home. Alal-uddin was not present in the house. He was in the hotel where he works full time and return home at night. He gets $18.75 in a month after 12-14 hours work in a local hotel. I remember the hotel where I was attacked when I as covering video record.

I talked with his mother and asked to send him school so he can participate annual exam from 11 December, 2017. But her mother said that his father don't want to send him school because Ala-uddin don't obey his father. He miss school sometime for no reason and also make quarrels with his sisters.

I realized that father is working so hard to feed 7 people in a family selling vegetables door to door but may be he got angry with Alal-Uddin because of his recent activities. Later she told me that she will try to convince her husband and go to Alal-uddin's employer so Alal-Uddin get few breaks for school time or recent final exam.

Later we went to Junayed's home.

Junayed was at work and his mother was too. Junayed mother is a day laborer and his father is passed away. So junayed used to go market for work and go school for 2 hours. But few days ago, his mother sent him in a permanent job. Now he gets $ 1.90 every day for 8 hours work in a shop.

Junayed and Alal-uddin with new school bag in 26 August, 2017.

He was returning from work with some onion as payment. I didn't find him and his mother. As we are local and it will not be nice for me to visit slums at night, so I decided to go in the morning so I find his mother and discuss about Junayed. Tomorrow is last day to try before exam. Already it is 10 December here and 4:47 AM. So I have to wake up 7-8 Am to meet his mother.

Sumon was regular boy and I didn't know why his father was not letting him to come school. Later I found that his father can't work alone as he is sick with ulcer disease. Sumon is the elder son of the family. His father was feeling upset but he said he will send him for exam.

I talked with him about 1 hour and they also treated me with tea. Robin( Father of Sumon) repair bicycle, Rickshaw with hand equipment on street. So sometimes his equipment get stolen and he face financial risk. So sumon could take care of equipment when his father working. He also shared that, he was beaten hardly by a political leader and also some of their property was taken by the man by force. So they are can't afford to pay house rent sometimes and change slums.

I offered sumon's mother to come women empowerment project so she can learn handicraft work and try at home or our centre. I am also planning to arrange a class at school so school's mothers can come easily if they want the training. She accepted it. Sumon will go to school at the end.
