Dear all, I was shocked when I heard about Saddam. My grandmother call me with the name and also many of my friends still call me Saddam. Though it is not my formal name and I surprise if anyone call me Saddam. My kept this name as I was born during war with Iraq and Kuwait war and he thought I will be powerful like Saddam Hussain. Well, It is changed and I don't use the name anywhere.
Today I meet a boy and his name is Saddam Hussain. He was a rickshaw puller and lives near to @schoolforsdg4 .
He is more than 12 years old and sometimes he had to pull rickshaw when his father can't do the work. Most school will reject him as he is older boy for class one and also he need support to keep continuing the education. So, how I can support him and will it be better than any other school? Well, when a children join with my school it become part of my vision. I love to visit their slums and know what difficulties they face and how I can help or deal with it.
Saddam and Hashi study at same class but there is big age difference. I am sure he don't feel shy as he looks so attentive in class though it will be hard for us to keep him school if his parents don't want. Tomorrow we will have monthly mothers meeting and during the meeting we will talk with Saddam's mother. The communication will help me to understand his family condition more deeply.
I am also planning to start @WomenEmpowerment project at @SchoolForSDG4 campus so kids mother can join in training mostly. So I will discuss about the training opportunity with mother tomorrow (17 January, 2018) morning.
It looks like I am observing my childhood. It looks like I am the boy and/or I was the boy and now I am a successful social entrepreneur for Steemit ! I see the eyes of the boy and if I am so honest, I was same like him and it looks like my childhood picture. Today we gave him new school books and he feel so happy after receiving the new books. We need to buy some books from market too. We need 25 sets of books for elementary kids so we are still trying to get from Govt. Hope we will get expected number of books soon.
