We here at the One Strong Youth Organization on STEEMIT understand the importance of learning basic multiplication at an early age. Multiplication and division can be introduced in its most basic form at the earliest opportunity so that children can begin to familiarise themselves with these key operations.
As we mentioned in our first blog having a basic understanding of multiplication forms the building block for other mathematical concepts. Once children are confident in the use of their multiplication tables they can begin to apply this knowledge to calculate a variety of sums.
Another good reason to memorize your multiplication tables is because of the practice you get in just memorizing things.
Why is it important to practice your Memorization?
Now obviously we are memorizing daily. Our brains are like a computer. Whatever we put into it, will most probably remain there for a long period of time. You can choose to fill it with skills that can be a benefit to you your entire life. Using and teaching your brain to memorize is probably the most important skill of all.
A Good Way To Practice Memorizing Your Fives
Look at the numbers associated with the hours on the clock. Each time the minute has struck one of these numbers 5 minutes have past. By knowing how many minutes of past when the minute hand lands on these numbers you will have figured out your basic 5 math facts up to 12.
