Another flower adventure. Rhododendrons are flowering shrubs. Some of the longer living varieties even grow to become small trees with curving tentacle shaped trunks and branches.
This is part two of my photo album collection featuring my photos of the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden in Portland, Oregon. These photos are from last April 2019, and I've been saving them to share here on steem for a cold winter day to help brighten things up a bit.
In this set, I took a step back to enjoy the actual size of the large shrubs. Each one gathers as much sunlight as it can, and cascades color tones to the earth under an umbrella of tinted petals.
Many of the old Rhododendrons look as though they have not been pruned in many years, and so they take on many wild shapes and forms. Together they create an interconnected garden design with many different focal points that can be appreciated from various angles.

All of the flowering shrubs in this set of photos are different kinds of the Rhododendrons. Very different cultivars, yet from the same plant family.
