It is another wonderful day in the Garden of Eden, and we are giving thanks for more than enough of everything in this abundant life of freedom!
We make daily feasts for our full time volunteers, cooking over fire using our handmade earthen rocket stoves in our sustainable outdoor kitchen! There is always more than enough food for everyone, and we are happy to share our abundance with you.
Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food!
Today, we made a crowd favorite: OMELETTES!!
Omelettes are quick, easy, delicious, AND these particular beauties are alchemies of leftovers!! We used sautéed veggies (onions, mushrooms, yellow squash and broccoli) along with eggs, cheese, and milk.
Getting the fire just right on the rocket stove is key to a good omelette.
@qiqi-power & Noki helped every step of the way! QiQi mixed up the eggs and a bit of milk (helps with the fluff factor). Noki grated the cheese. They both sprinkled the cheese on the omelette.
Into the pan - first butter, then egg and milk mixture. We waited a minute to allow he bottom to firm up a bit, then we put in the veggies and sprinkled on the cheese.
It was so big & fluffy that we had to cut it to flip it! :-)
We served these wonderful omelettes with spicy Italian flatbread toast, leftover salad, and cashew parsley garlic dip.
