Restaurants of Acapulco: Zibu Mexthai Fancy Restaurant Part 1

We went for a fancy dinner a local Zibu which we've been eyeing for a year. Its one of those places you drive by and it just smells so good and looks so fancy. We've kept our distance partially for good reason because it's the priciest place I've eaten at in Mexico and probably the fanciest place I've ever eaten. My photos are sub-par because it was late and the restaurant was dark. I'll go again during the day time.

It was amusing for us because we showed up in super casual ware and much of the other people there were dressed pretty nicely. We looked homeless comparatively and spent a lot on all sorts of things. It was totally worth the experience.

Super swanky and dimly lit, it had great atmosphere.

Check out those prices, which are in Mexican pesos. This place is located in a small mountain town just outside Acapulco, just over the mountain from us.

They brought us bread of all different kinds.

And these things, I'm not sure what they were but they were SO tasty.

Pretty sure I have a recipe, they're called vigilantes.

So tasty.

Lots of little types of breads.

This was an appetizer that was so good it was ordered twice. It's the surf and turf with steak and shrimps on skewers and it's held up by that piece of bamboo stuffed with mashed potatoes. The fire was just for decoration, there was apparently a sweet and sour sauce and peanut sauce in those little sauce cups.

The summer rolls weren't that great, in my opinion but bear in mind I'm picky so that doesn't mean much. They were pretty.

They made excellent use of citrus peels for the sauces, I will say.

These mashed potatoes were very good.

And the restaurant while dark was gorgeous. Stay tuned for the next set where I share the seriously impressive plating for our food.
