A full cup or a half cup of tea?
A full chai is a full cup. A full chai is more tea, at a higher price.
The half chai which serves a smaller serving of tea at a lower price is Mumbai's CUTING CHAI
How to make your own cutting chai
Ingredients:
Half a cup of water,
Half cup of milk,
A small piece of ginger,
One cardamom (elaichi)
Procedure:
Heat the water in a vessel.
Grate the piece of ginger in the water.
(Grating is better than smashing
as grating produces a stronger taste.)
Smash the cardamom & add it to the water.
Add one spoon tea powder & two spoonfuls of sugar
Add more if you prefer your _chai_ sweeter
Let the water boil.
Stir in between.
Stirring plays a vital role in getting the _kadak_ taste.
After the water has boiled, add milk.
Stir well again.
Once well boiled,
Drink it piping hot!
