Vegan Super Food Chocolate Ice Cream Shake! Get Your Delicious and Nutritious Feast On!

Greetings!

Firstly I want to clarify that I am not a vegan and respect instead of judge everyones personal choices, but health and sustainability have been of the utmost importance to me for some time. With that being said it is quite obvious that generally speaking especially in a consumer corporate culture a more vegan diet is conducive to, not only health, but sustainability. I would love to write a whole post on this and maybe will do so shortly.

I know how important food is for people, not just the nutrients to sustain, but how much people enjoy it for pleasure. I often see people eating food though that is not either very nutritious or delicious.

My life has been quite a feast for many years now. Living at The Garden of Eden is constantly the place with the most food and feasting I have ever seen ANYWHERE. Plus we have lots of competent chefs so its not only nutritious and abundant, but super delicious!

Today I am sharing a fast, simple and delicious treat you can enjoy every day and feel good about!

Step 1 is the ingredients:

I really am not a recipe guy. I am a food alchemist. I can basically make anything taste good and I have made delicious dishes out of many ingredients and combinations people have never even herd of before. So what I would like to do is to give a rough estimate and also talk about variations that can be made to this so that it does NOT have to be exact but still good. I will discuss the aspects of it that make it what it is and different variations that can take place.

So to start out the title is "Vegan Super Food Chocolate Ice Cream Shake" so because its vegan that means no animal products. So to replace that we are using coconut milk in its stead. This is my favorite vegan milk substitute but there are many types of vegan "milk" out there.

For this recipe we are using 1 can of coconut milk.

To make it "ice cream" we are adding frozen bananas to give it the ice factor! It is truly amazing how well this works because not only does the frozen banana in the right amount give it the exact ice cream shake consistency but bananas are also very healthy and very sweet so there is little need for added sugar!

For this recipe we are using a 1/2 to 3/4 blender full of FROZEN bananas

You can see here that we have some hemp protein which is one of the super food factors. Hemp protein is super duper healthy and easy to find. You can basically add as much of that as you want but we use a heaping spoon full. You can pretty much add any kind of nutrition/supplement/super food powder to this in small amounts and it will still taste great!

As you can see there is a can of hot chocolate of which we are using for this recipe simply because we have it. I have not bought any food at a grocery store market or anywhere in over a decade. So I use what I can harvest, salvage, or is donated. This has chocolate and some sugar in it. Ideally for health I would recommend pure raw organic cacao powder.

We also have a bag of xylitol and you have never heard of it before I am quite impressed with it. It is natural made from bark extract actually. It taste the closest to sugar of any sugar substitutes I have seen and its quite a bit healthier. We really didn't use any of it because the bananas are so sweet and because the chocolate powder had sugar in it,  but if you like yours real sweet you can add as much to taste as you want to make it as sweet as you want. Obviously you can also use any sweeter you like, raw honey and agave syrup are also very healthy choices!

So first we put in the frozen bananas and coconut milk. Then we add in the chocolate and hemp powder.

QiQi almost 6, is a super helper as she is not only competent but very joyful! She makes everything more fun!
If you have not yet read my introduction about her its a MUST read.

Now this is where the ice cream starts getting SUPER! This is my Uber Super Food Green Juice Alchemy of which has over 20 different Eden grown beyond organic wildcrafted super foods in it. Here we add a quarter of a cup (again you can add more if you want it MORE super, but the flavor will also become more prevalent).

Then we add a little bit of coconut oil maybe a tablespoon or so just to make it richer. Also coconut oil is super duper healthy and delicious!

Then we simply blend it. If you have the proper ratio it comes out perfect. If you have do many bananas and not enough liquid it won't blend. So just add some water, green juice or more coconut milk. If you have to much liquid then it won't be thick like ice cream but more watery. The great thing is if you get it wrong you can just add more of either the liquid or bananas and get it perfect!

The better the blender you have the easier it is. The cheap blenders make it a lot harder to get a really thick consistency.

Then pour it into a cup and enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed this post and are inspired to experiment with super healthy and delicious food. Life really is better when healthy!

I want to give a shout out to @heart-to-heart for being a responsible, rational and kind vegan and for bringing people together not separating people with her vegan contest. I am entering to show support for a peaceful and loving vegan community that does not exclude but includes. The does not judge but loves and lives by example.
