Iolo is my first experience with "local" review. I started with the Yankees because of a chronological issue (I decided to start the blog while traveling there) and second because I think they are the real masters of the field. It would cost me a lot to remember some hamburger food in the United States that has not been very good or excellent. Here, I think, we have a lot to learn, do and even value the hamburgers but luckily in the last time I have taken some pleasant surprises, very close to where I live and I will comment on several future posts.
To this place I arrived thanks to my mom, who knowing about my blog took me especially to Iolo because she had gone to eat there several times, it had seemed all very good and talking to the local people about my blog project I was told That please take me, that they made "the best hamburgers". Then we went, had to try them.
First I tell you that Iolo is a restaurant, on the menu there are many options and as I was told the burgers are a specialty they do only on Fridays. It is beautifully decorated, bright and truly gives pleasure to be there, all the details of the decoration are very well cared for. It is close to the central area of San Isidro, in Buenos Aires, but luckily not in the most chaotic and crowded part. They took care of us very well, especially Vicky, the person in charge ... very good and very beautiful.
As for burgers there are no choices, there is only the menu which for about $ 90 includes the sandwich, some potatoes and a drink. It comes with cheese but not cheddar but the type of deli cut, maybe mozzarella was and some thick strips of bacon and lots of sweet and sour cucumbers although I suppose there will be no problem in getting something out of this if you do not like the customer and even add some Another ingredient that is in the kitchen because it is an a la carte restaurant, at most it will be necessary to pay an extra.
It was very rich and plentiful but it was a more gourmet experience than fast food, more European we could say. He felt very much the caramelized onion, perhaps too much for the one who is not so friendly with the onion, I love it. It came with very large potato canes, they were baked with some spices. Very rich, but the spices were an atypical flavor for the "hamburger world". Vicky, the manager of the place, told us that the secret ingredient of the meat is the Cognac that they put. I did not notice it but I can say that the meat was very tasty and of good quality. The only thing that was not so much to my liking was the bread, which was toasted and for me it would have been better that it did not come this way or that I would have been asked to choose.
It is a recommended place, to eat hamburgers or anything else (we also ask for a caprese toasted exquisite) and it is also very nice to be there. I did not find it expensive, we think that today for that same money we can hardly eat a combo in McDonalds and here they also give you food (and attention) of a quality far superior to those of the golden M. There was WiFi and it is an area where it costs a bit to park but there is a paid parking right in front.
