Usually I cook at home and really enjoy the process. Yet, as you can imagine, when I’m traveling I often have no options but to go out to some local restaurant. So, being in Lviv this winter I’ve visited the Trapezna (meaning ‘refectory’) restaurant. Located in the basement of the Greek Catholic Church of St. Andrew (The Bernardine Monastery) this restaurant is not only different from other restaurants in the city, but also has some truly unique atmosphere and cuisine along with great Art Gallery.
Ranked #17 of 399 restaurants in Lviv according to Tripadvisor
You may see above what visitors of the restaurant liked the most: onion pie, stew and definitely borscht. I can assure you that the food is really good and authentic. No grill menu or such, unfortunately, but you will like stewed meat, monastery beverages and famous borscht.
You will also like it's cozy atmosphere.
They also have some things left from a century ago or so.
Even kids who were with us enjoyed the Art Gallery.
