LeaderBoard Update!

@OpenSeed integration into Code Breakers is now one quarter complete.Currently the leader board interface and user sign-in / sign-up features have been added. With tutorials on how other developers can add their games to the system being written and finalized.

For those unfamiliar with Openseed the api allows games and applications to connect to the STEEM blockchain with little or no knowledge of the blockchain for the users. For more about this check out these two posts (1, 2).

Code Breakers Future Development

You can download Code Breakers from Itch.io here for Windows and Linux. The current plan is to have a new release of the game every time I stabilize a feature in OpenSeed. This way development on Code Breakers is fueled by the completion of the larger project helping both to reach their goals.

Here are a few shots of the current game including a themed version of the OpenSeed interfaces within the game.

Other Improvements

Beyond the OpenSeed integration the game feels more complete with the inclusion of a dialog and emotes from the "helpful" robot with you during the code breaking as well as the following:

  • End game score screen.
  • Sound Effects for various menu items and game actions
  • Cleared out unused options to be re added when they become available
  • Welcome dialog for new players
  • Basic code clean up.

Next Update

In the next update I will be adding achievements to the system and hopefully a front-end for developers to start adding OpenSeed to their projects. As this will be after the hard fork I hope to be ready to submit OpenSeed to the SPS (if its funding things at that time) to create a community of game developers and OpenSeed nodes.
