I want to present to you my favorite picks of Playstation 4 Games (in no particular order). When the Playstation 4 launched there weren't that much games available and part of me worried if making the change from Xbox to Playstation had been the right decision. However now there seem to be almost too much great titles available. From the large selection of excellent games available I want to show you my favorites and explain why these are my personal top 10 picks.
Last of Us: Remastered
The story about Joel and Ellie is set in an post-apocalyptic United States and follows our heroes across of what remains of the United States to find a cure against a mysterious fungal disease that is on the brink of wiping out the human race.
This game will grip you from the get go. The emotional openings scene sets the mood for the rest of the game. As always game developer Naughty Dog with an emotional story and really brings game characters to life. An excellent storyline with exceptional voice acting and superb gameplay make this an instant classic.
Don't forget to play the "Left Behind" DLC. It gives us a deeper understanding of Ellie's character.

Destiny
Destiny is set far into the future, an entity called "the traveler" has come to earth and had brought with it a golden age for humanity. Unfortunately a mysterious being called the darkness has attacked the traveler. You are a guardian, a defender of the traveler and you must do all you can to fight off the traveler's enemies in this engaging MMO first-person shooter.
Destiny is one of the best shooters available. The shooting mechanics are perfect and the game modes are varied. There is almost too much to do in Destiny. This game will have you playing for years trying to make your guardian as strong as possible.
The guns, man o' man the guns in this game are the real stars. The last Word, Thorn. They even have their own backstory.

Limbo
The mysterious puzzler from Playdead has you controlling a young boy in scary world where all things seem out to kill you.
You will not be able to stop playing this game until you reach the ending. The puzzles are engaging and get harder the further you get. The mood set in the game is mesmerizing. Also playing the game reveals more about the story without using cut scenes. Don't be fooled by the simple looking graphics, this game is beautiful.
The game has an alternative ending. Look for hidden clues revealing more of the mysterie. And that ending....chilling
Inside
Another puzzler by Playdead. This game has you also playing as a young boy but this time the stage is set in a more futuristic world. Your character has to find out what is happening to the world around him. People are being kidnapped and zombie like figures are roaming the landscape.
Inside is eerie, creepy and mysterious. Playdead knows how to create a gripping game. The puzzles you have to solve are pure genius and fun.
It is impossible to stop playing the game because on the one hand, you just have to solve those puzzles and on the other hand you are dying to find out what the hell is happening.
This game also has an alternative ending. Those last chapters though! Brilliant, unnerving and thrilling.
Horizon Zero Dawn
The game made by my fellow country men Guerilla ( from Amsterdam) is without a doubt Game of the Year. Set in the future we follow the adventures of the girl Aloy. The world Aloy lives in is inhabited by machines that look like animals who are increasingly becoming more of a danger to humanity. It's up to Aloy to save humankind.
One of the best looking games on the Playstation. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is never the same. This is one game where even the side missions are fun to play and really add something to the main story. I can go on praising this game for days. If you haven't played it yet just go and get it now (well that is after you've read the rest of my top 10 that is).
The first time I saw a Tall neck it just blew me away. I saw it in the distance moving slowly on the horizon. I immediately ran towards it only to find out that I could actually interact with this enormous being.
Uncharted 4: A thief's End
Another Naughty Dog entry starring Nathan Drake in his last adventure. This game feels a lot like Tomb Raider but with the added spectacle of Indiana Jones (the good ones). The story is gripping and spectacular. Voice acting is on the same level as Last of Us (that means it is like watching a big budget movie with the best actors Hollywood can offer). The puzzles are somewhat simple but this doesn't get in the way of the fun. It is a perfect ending of the series.
Props to Sony for including an in-game Sony Classic, Crash Bandicoot. I almost played Crash Bandicoot for an hour before continuing with the main story line.
Resogun
Resogun is a vertical shoot 'm up where you navigate your ship shooting baddies and saving human survivors. The game came out when the Playstation was launched. The gameplay is fast and the action is frantic. The graphics are hypnotizing and the music really fits the game.
One of the most addicting shooters on the playstation.
The old fashioned "playing for a high score" is a great throwback to the old days of retro gaming.
The first time the voice from the commentator came out of my Playstation controller, It scared the bejeezus out of me. I didn't know back then that the controller was able to do that. I think developers should use this more often in their games.

Until Dawn
Until Dawn is a mysterious thriller based on teen slasher horror movies. A group of friends have a reunion at a remote cabin in the woods (figures right?).
The game is setup like a TV show even mimicking recaps (last time on Until Dawn...) between the chapters. You switch between the different characters and try to find out the truth about what happened to their two friends who disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
The decisions you make in the game actually make a difference in how the game plays out. Your aim is to keep everybody alive (which is easier said than done).
Between the chapters starring our very scared teens are scenes of a session between a psychiatrist and an unseen patient. Their conversation and the decisions you make there have a direct impact on the main story. Get ready to be scared in this game with its unique gameplay.
This is actually my wife's @sherryblossom's favorite game on the Playstation.
The Witcher 3: A Wild Hunt
Could this list be complete without The Witcher? Me thinks not!
This game stars Geralt as he takes on "The Wild Hunt" a mysterious group of demons while dealing with the battle between Nilfgaard and the Northern Kingdoms and his own demons.
Just the size of this game is impressive. Like with Horizon Zero Dawn you could just wander around this world for hours exploring the beautiful landscape.
The sheer amounts of WTF moments in this game is amazing
NieR: Automata
For me one of the big surprises of this year. NieR is one of those games that only Platinum games can make and get away with. NieR revolves around of a combat android, her companion, and a fugitive prototype who battle in a war against machines created by mysterious invaders.
The gameplay is totally insane, it switches from 3D perspective to 2D to top-down, from shooter to hack 'n slash. The game does everything to throw you off guard. But what makes this game so good is the way it does it, perfect and with confidence. The story is very anime-like and full of emotion.
Get ready to be confused and amazed by the most innovating and intriguing game that has recently surfaced on Playstation.
I love this game because it strings modern and retro game types together to create a perfect play style. It's refreshing to see games like this where game developers try something completely new. It may seem confusing and strange at first but just go with it and let the game amaze you.
So what are your favorite games for the Playstation? Let me know in the comment section.
