Drumroll please...We have not one, but TWO winners!
Many thanks to both @mariannewest and @sustainablyyours for being our first bold, brave challengers to try out this untested, new contest. As a thanks to both of you for participating, I illustrated both your stories! Both took the prompt "He was late, again" in a Christmassy direction, but totally different ones.
Check out @MarianneWest 's tense story here. And if you want to hear her delightful reading of it, click here!.
@SustainablyYours took it in a totally different direction, and I have to say, I felt for the poor reindeer the most.
Let's do it again! Are you interested? Anyone can join.
The basic premise is this: we will post a prompt every week, inviting writers to make a short story or scene based on the idea. After seven days, I’ll select one story and make an illustration of it! Morning Routine
Once your story is written, be sure to tag it with #getillustrated and drop the link in the comments below this post. And be sure to check out each others’ stories, too!
So excited to see what you all come up with! I’ve been so encouraged, creatively, by the kind people out here who are making beautiful things, sharing their lives, and coming alongside our own journey. I can’t wait to finally return some of the favor.
You have until January 8th to get your submission in. We’ll announce the second week’s illustrated story winner shortly after. See you then!
