Armed with this information, every single one of the residents of our ecovillage recognized that an anti-candida protocol may be beneficial to them. While we live a lifestyle healthier than most, various people here were still displaying some degree of the classic symptoms of candida overgrowth:

  • Chronic fatigue
  • Mood swings or low mood
  • Brain fog, easily forgetful
  • A weak immune system
  • Joint pains/Fibromyalgia
  • Inflammation
  • Digestive issues or pain (like Crohn's disease or IBS)
  • Fungal infections on the skin or nails
  • Recurring yeast infections of the genitals (yes men can get them too)
  • Oral thrush
  • Sinus infections
  • Food allergies/food intolerance

We encourage everyone to perform an easy at home test to check yourself for candida overgrowth just like we did.

Because we want to live the healthiest lives possible, everyone here decided to follow an anti-candida protocol for 3 weeks!

This involves following a diet rich in fresh, whole, raw fruits, leafy greens, root vegetables, and squash. We are temporarily eliminating sugar, meat, dairy, and most carbohydrates. Sometimes we are having brown rice, quinoa, and beans.

We followed this diet for several days, making sure to drink lots of water as well, to prepare our bodies for the next phase of a serious detox.

We started a protocol resurrected from the history books by Dr. Jennifer Daniels for taking 100% gum spirits of turpentine. The adults here took 1 teaspoon of turpentine on 3 sugar cubes once in the morning for 4 days, then took 3 days off the natural medicine, to be repeated for a total of 3 weeks.

Today is the last day of our first week, and we want to record our results on the blockchain to inspire one and all to activate their own thrival!

We are following the anti-candida diet carefully. Each person is taking a spit test and measuring urine pH morning and night and recording their detox experience in a daily journal. We are recording notes on diet, water intake, bowel movements, energy levels, moods, and any die off symptoms we may experience like dizziness, itchiness, head and body aches, mental clarity, food cravings, and gas.

It's great fun to conduct a community science experiment, and of course it's a blast to get healthier and healthier. Our spirits are high, but our residents are having different degrees of detoxing.

One the one hand, the healthiest people here have been relatively unaffected by the cleanse with no uncomfortable side effects. On the other hand, one of the unhealthiest residents was essentially out of commission for days from such a severe flu-like reaction. They are presently feeling much better!

We are going to continue bringing you information about candida and how to treat it, and will share more of our experience and analysis of our data points in upcoming posts!

We are starting week 2 tomorrow, and we have already found a successful diet and natural medicine to treat this overgrowth. We're finding that it's much easier to do a serious, 3 week detox with a group because we get the moral support of others going through the same experience.

We want everyone to be as healthy as possible, so we invite one and all to follow this anti-candida protocol along with us! We make 100% gum spirits of turpentine available by donation through our website for those who want to try this amazing natural substance.

We want to hear your results as well! Please share with us: what are  your symptoms that make you suspect you have a candida overgrowth? Did  you take the test, and if so what were your results? What is your standard diet, and what does your anti-candida diet look like? What changes are you observing?

Every aspect of life is better when you are healthy! Please join us on a journey to full thrival. We hope this will inspire you to do additional research and work towards the best possible health for yourself!
