It's been a while in the making! Our first Hip Hop The Blockchain Meet Up here in Kuala Lumpur went down yesterday, February 25th 2018, at the intimate and cozy Fono tucked away in Kampung Attap.
As a part of the Hip Hop The blockchain initiative, we are not only focused on building the Online community via current and coming Blockchain platforms, but we aim to also connect local communities through Meet Ups and other events.
When it comes to initiatives based around emerging technology it's important to keep expectations to a minimum and focus on quality over quantity. I'll never let a small turnout dissuade me from continuing on building because every movement starts with a handful of dedicated and passionate people.
We wanted to keep the Meet Up informal. Kicking off with some music and eventually leading to our first Open Mic session (photo above). It's all about the Cypher in Hip Hop and we created our own and everyone who wanted to jump in contributed their talents.
Shout out to Chris Anand for his poetry, @illkrux for killing the mic with fire verses, ABeatC for the Beatboxing, the brother Thev who also surprised us with his freestyles, @one10 & Double Dice who also joined the extended Cypher at the end. Also shout out to @daonlytruf (time to drop a post bro!) and everyone else, we hope to see you on Steemit real soon!

All in all, it was a positive first step in spreading the word about Blockchain platforms and bringing it to the Hip Hop Community here in KL. We look fwd to our next Meet Up most likely to go down in April 2018 and hopefully @djlethalskillz will be in good health to join us next time!
