Today in this post, you are going to learn how to cook very simple Jollof rice and beans with very simple steps. Trust me, there are very simple steps that will make your food look very delicious and taste very sweet.

In Africa, rice and beans are a very common food that I love and that almost everyone loves. Some people loved cooking the two separately, whereas others like cooking both in the same pot, just as I have done with mine. Although, in cooking rice and beans, the quantity of rice is usually greater than that of the beans.

Without wasting your time, let's take a look at how to cook Jollof rice and beans and the necessary ingredients.

Ingredients:.

  • Rice
  • Beans
  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Onions
  • fresh pepper
  • Curry powder
  • Groundnut Oil
  • Egg (optional)
  • Fresh fish or meat, if any.
  • Spices
  • Salt to taste.

Cooking Steps

  • First, parboil your beans for about 20–30 minutes before adding your rice, and allow to cook for an additional 5–10 minutes before you can wash and set aside.

  • While your rice and beans are on the fire to parboil, you can be preparing your fresh tomatoes, pepper, and other ingredients. Use a blender to grind your fresh tomatoes and pepper and keep them aside.

  • At this point that you have all prepared your ingredients, you can then put a pot on fire and pour in some quantity of groundnut oil and allow it to get hot before you can add your sliced onion and fry it.

  • Add your blended fresh tomatoes and peppers and fry. While frying, add some spices to it and fry very well.

  • After you have fried your tomatoes and peppers very well, add your washed rice and beans and some quantity of water together with spices and stir very well.

  • At the point when your rice is about to dry off, you can then add your already-boiled egg and allow to get done.

Boom! Your delicious rice is now ready for eating.
