This is the last week of your first trimester, your fetus is 5.3cm long then the development is still going on. The plancenta is supplying nutrients and oxygen to the fetus. It also blocks any toxic substance from affecting the fetus, this, protecting the fetus from any gems. The fetus move very well and in response of any pressure on your abdomen. They can yawn, swallow, use their fingers but you cannot feel any of this movement yet. The fetus liver is making red blood cells infacts all major organs are well formed and functioning but will stil continue to grow larger and stronger. At the end of this week the chance of miscarriage is low so if you were having some challenges or complications you were told that you may have miscarriage at the end of this week 12, stay calm the rate of miscarriage is low.

PREGNANCY AT 13 WEEKS

Taarah!! Congratulations you have made it to second trimester, and your fetus is 6.4cm long, the eyes moves, the ankles are well formed, the genitals are developing internally and the external is forming too. At this stage the sex can be determined in scan but it won't come out 100% sure yet till week 20. The kidneys and bladders are also developing and the fetus is able to produce urine which is recycled at amniotic fluid. The fetus intestines are no longer in the umbilical cord, they moved to their original position in the stomachache. The vocal cord forms this week. The bones are becoming stronger and as such the fetus movement this week increases but you can not feel it yet. Hair follicles are growing.
