What's up, Steemians.
My chili plants moved all to the 2nd grow box now. After the swap to bigger containers, I need more space for the plants to grow. My first grow box is not large enough. Usually, the plants grow much quicker after they are put into bigger containers. Therefore the second grow box is a higher and bigger one.
Grow Box Setup
I constructed the 2nd grow box some years ago. The grow box is a simple cardboard box with aluminum foil inside. This helps to reflect the artificial light and to be more efficient.
The grow box has two PC vents, which help to avoid mold growth, circulate fresh air and shake the plants a bit (creates stronger plants). The vents run 3 times a day for some minutes.
The light is a fluorescent lamp from my old fish tank. It provides enough light and is switched on for 13 hours a day.
There is no heating in this grow box compared to my first one. In this phase, the plants do not require high temperatures anymore. Since the grow box is inside our house the plants have normal room temperature 19°C. This is fully sufficient.
To Do:
- Just watering with fertilizer and waiting that the plants reach the top of the grow box. 😊
