The higher chain of command. When you seem to have no hope behind enemy lines, there is always an Admiral who will bring you home.

Behind Enemy Lines is loosely based on the Mrkonjić Grad incident. An 2K12 Kub mobile SAM shot down USAF Capt. Scott Francis O'Grady, over Bosnia-Herzegovina forcing him to eject into hostile territory. For nearly a week, he evaded the Serbs before being rescued by the US Marines.
In the Banja Luka incident Capt. O'Grady participated in engaging six Republika Srpska Air Force aircraft.

In answer to Capt. O'Grady's distress signal. Admiral Leighton Smith, commander of NATO Southern Forces, authorized Col. Martin Berndt, USM aboard the USS Kearsarge execute the rescue mission.

When you seem to have no hope.

When behind enemy lines

16 He reached from on high, He took me;
He drew me out of many waters.
17 He rescued me from my strong enemy,
And from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me.
18 They confronted me in the day of my disaster,
But the Lord was my support.
19 He brought me out into a broad place;
He rescued me because He was pleased with me and delighted in me.
Psa 18:16-19 AMP

There is an admiral who answers to a higher chain of command.

Who will always bring you home.

13 Sing to the Lord! Praise the Lord!
For He has rescued the life of the needy one
From the hand of evildoers.
Jer 20:13 AMP
