@sndbox : Hi @jassennessaj, tell us about yourself and your background?

@jassennessaj : Hello! I'm an Electronics Engineering Student | Strong Steemit Advocate for Students (Please reward those Student Authors!) | Steemph.cebu Community Leader | Bayanihan Curator.

@sndbox : When did you join Steemit, and why?

@jassennessaj : I joined Steemit back in early June through a classmate / friend - @themanualbot - who introduced me to the platform. My initial reasons (only) were to be able to find a reliable source of income to help me with my studies. Guess what, Steemit provided all of my school, personal, and some family needs. I'm a proud Steemit Scholar! :)

@sndbox : How has your experience on this platform been?

@jassennessaj : It has been an amazing experience to be honest. I never imagined how grateful I would be to this platform. A lot has happened since I first joined Steemit, including big community meetups, campaigns and philanthropic projects. Thanks to @donkeypong for being the first person to help me with my goal to promote Steemit in our school.

Sndbox has also been a key factor helping us to make a better Steemit community in Cebu. The support was overwhelming. Michael and Kirk has helped us a lot, especially building @steemph.cebu as a pioneer Sndcastle in the Philippines.

@sndbox : We're really impressed with the community initiatives that your team has hosted in Cebu! What other initiatives are you working on in order to build up a Steemit presence surrounding your school and hometown?

@jassennessaj : We're currently focused on distributing rewards to the Cebu community via @steemph.cebu account. We host events, contests, community questions, and distribute rewards from our "Weekly feature of Authors". We believe this is a great initiative and a big way to boost our community here. For those who don't know, here's a bit more about the Cebu community:

@steemph.cebu is a community account aimed to support native Steemian writers by discovering quality posts from Filipinos located primarily in Cebu and its neighboring towns. Along with @steemph.iligan and @steemph.davao, @steemph.cebu is a branch of @steemph to help provide a better community for Filipinos. This is also aimed to be a force multiplier which helps @bayanihan and @steemph in discovering and endorsing quality posts from Filipino writers situated in Cebu and its neighboring cities (Bohol, Negros, Leyte, etc.). In this way, it helps Filipino posts have an assurance to be covered all over the country.

One successful event that we had was a World Food Day fundraiser - where we were able to buy food and provide slippers to a large group of local children in need. Along with @fernwehninja, @itinerantph, @queenjventurer, @mikekenlytungal, @rfece143, it was a successful big event!

@sndbox : In the next 6 months of being in Sndbox and on Steemit, where do you see your work going?

@jassennessaj : My long term goal on Steemit is to become an influential curator. I want to help correct the imbalance of reward distribution of this platform. Curating and rewarding those undiscovered authors especially those who are still students, especially. I believe that there is a big potential for students and education on this platform, and that this is already the best social media environment for them.

@sndbox : Any other comments and ideas you would like to share with @sndbox readers?

@jassennessaj : Support our Steemit-Engineering Polo shirt! :D
