Total Deliverance #2. The Blind Man's Persistence

There are my people that do give up easily when they are facing one problem or the other, especially when they are being told that it's not possible for them or when they are being reproached. We should learn to persist on whatever we want and soon we will receive it.

There was a blind man named Bartimaeus in the Book of Mark 10:46-52 who was sitting by the road side begging people for alms. He could not fend for himself since he was bling. He needed a miracle for him to see.

46 Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means “son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging.

At the time he was there, Jesus was passing by and when he heard that it was Jesus who was passing by, He summoned his courage with all his power and start to shout and calling on Jesus to have mercy on him. He keep on calling on Jesus despite the rebuke of the people to stop shouting. They told him to keep quiet but he keep on shouting the more.

47 When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
48 Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Due to his persistence calling on Jesus, Jesus told the people to call him and they did telling him to cheer up. This is to tell us that when we are in any kind of tribulation, we should not relent in praying and calling on God. People around us may reproof, reproach us but we should not look at the noise of the market but face who we are dealing with. Also, by the time our joy is to come. It is these people that will also help us out to reach our goal.

49 Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.”
So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 50 Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

He threw is cloak away will going to meet Jesus where He was waiting for him. Jesus ask this man what he may do for him and without telling any kind of story, he told Jesus that he wants to see. May, at times, when we are suppose to grasp the opportunity given to us , we start to complain about how it all start and all that. We start to complain instead of going to the main point like what Bartimaeus did.

51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”
52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

Just because of his faith, Jesus healed him and instantly he received his sight. Let us make our faith strong in the Lord knowing that He can do all things for us. We should be ready for him anytime He comes so that our blessing will not bypass us.
Keep on persisting in prayer and do not relent at all and I believe that you will receive your miracle in Jesus name.

Thanks for reading.
God bless you.
Shalom.
