Shooting the Cherry Blossoms :: Beautiful Japan #72

Everyone is a photographer when the cherry blossoms bloom.

The blossoms are suddenly full! It happened surprisingly quickly: just a few days ago was nothing, but now they are completely full! I suspect it was due to several warmer than usual days in the previous few weeks. But unfortunately I fear this means they won't last long—a different type of cherry blossom, kawazuzakura, only lasted a few days this year and I fear these may be the same—so gotta catch them quickly!

As a professional photographer, I suppose I should be a bit angry when I see so many people with cameras out and about. Many photographers are. They feel threatened I suppose. Me, I couldn't be more thrilled. It's fun to suddenly see everyone with nice DSLR cameras trying their best to take the perfect sakura shot. Good luck to them! I'm happy to see more people experimenting with this great art.
