Recently I’ve been seeing a lot of activity on Steemit from homesteaders. I’m not sure if that is just because I’ve tailor-made my feed to suit my interests or if there is growing support for Steemit homesteaders, but I’d like to think that the community is on the rise!
One of the most recent articles I stumbled across was a list, created by @pennsif, of multiple Preppers & Homesteaders on Steemit. As I browsed through the list of names and glanced at multiple profiles, I was amazed to see how many enthusiastic members of the community there are. I sense a palpable energy within this area of Steemit - an increase of interest, an energetic desire to support one another, and the desire to come together and do something great!
I believe we can do our best work together with the sharing of ideas, advice, stories, and connections… and the Steemit platform is the perfect setting.
So as I follow the stories of others with similar interests, I consider how I can add value to this community. Yes, writing articles is one of the main ways to support the movement and I post as often as I can. But I’d like to incorporate the ideas, the excitement, and the energy into one location! I want to support others with the same values that I believe in.
I’d like to hear the communities opinion about an idea of mine - What do you think of a Weekly Homesteading Newsletter (WHN)? This newsletter would be a lengthy article posted once per week that contains stories, photos, and advice from varying homesteader / prepper Steemit accounts, with photos and links directly to the original articles! This way, we could all share our successes (and challenges) more easily while better supporting one another!
