I started writing this the night before I got to meet my son just over 2 weeks ago, so who knew suddenly having a 15-month-old placed in your care could interrupt your Steemit posting so much.
Now for most men, the night before meeting their son means someone else is in labor and possibly swearing at them for their part in the whole affair.
For me, it means that my wife and I have just had a three-day babymoon enjoying all the amazing things Singapore has to offer before flying out to Thailand.
Singapore. The tourist report.
Wow, what an amazing place if you have never been there you should go so much of this place has been truly planned with love and attention from your very first experience at the airport with it butterfly gardens, free movie cinema and more, you can see the care taken in the design and layout of the whole city.
While most cities have tourist traps Singapore seams custom built for tourists.
Free laser shows.
If you make your way down to the marina sands, for 8, 9, or 10 pm you will be treated to a few light and water show.
Now some snobby TripAdvisor review might try to tell you “Its o.k. but only because it's free” those reviewers are knobs this show is really entertaining, now I have seen water jet projection screens done better than this but the water/light show choreography gave my wife goosebumps.
Supertree Grove.
Take the train, don't walk 40 mins in the Singapore heat like my wife and I did.
The Supertree grove should absolutely be seen in both day and night mode so you can really appreciate just this awesome this spectacle really is.
These Supertrees not only provide venting for the nearby cloud and flower domes, as well collecting rainwater and solar power but also come alive at night with a light and music show
The Domes
While you at the gardens make sure you visit the cloud and flower domes.
Cloud Dome.
This was by far my favorite of the two, in this Dome, you will find a huge rainforest mountain covered in lush greens and all kinds of orchids.
This dome also boasts the world's largest indoor waterfall.
Flower Dome.
Not so interesting for me, this dome is worth checking out if only for some of the awesome statues.
It was kind of cool walking through the Australian section and feeling a little at home.
Shopping malls.
While we didn't have a little one with us there where things to do with children everywhere, playpens, jungle gyms but this was my personal favorite.
Random UFO sea creatures.
Even on a walk home after a lovely dinner, you can stumble across some more entertainment.
For us this can in the form of some kite enthusiasts sounds exciting right well, it was.
Seeing a Goflykite in action felt like watching a creature from the movie The Abyss.
Even the trains.
Even the driverless train with its large open front and back windows made the trip back to the airport feel like an adventure park ride.
So what's not to like.
If your Aussie chances are good that you may have traveled to Asian destinations like Bali or Thailand before and enjoyed an awesome holiday that didn't break your bank.
Singapore is not one of those places, don't expect to live like a king on $50 Aud a day.
Worst of all is the price of a bloody beer, every time I saw the price of a pint I wanted to slap someone.
Kind regards
Shai
