5 Things that I love

1. The Great New Zealand Outdoors!

I spent about 4 years in Auckland, New Zealand studying right after my SPM exams. My parents were so keen to send me off that I didn't even wait to get my results! I enrolled in high school there and finished my 7th Grade and Bursary Examinations. I then got into the University of Auckland and it was a marvelous 4 years! I travelled around the North and South Islands and fell head over heels in love with it. New Zealand has everything! The beach and sea, snow capped mountains, hot springs, beautiful lakes, active volcanos, the dramatic fiordland, glaciers, the Waitomo caves, the beautiful wine valleys (some of the best wine come from New Zealand. Think Cloudy Bay!) rolling green hills and beautiful blue skies! I plan to visit NZ often and in time to come live there! If you have never been to New Zealand it has to be on your list of MUST visit countries.

2. Blockchain, Crypto and all things Personal Finance

Back in 2014, I started on my journey of learning more about my personal finance and also reading and researching about Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain. I dearly wanted to become more financially independent and not have to be tied down to a corporate 9-5 job as my first child had just arrived. Our ageing parents were also a concern as we have to provide for them. I started down the rabbit hole of cryptocurrency in late 2015 and early 2016. I have personally invested in Bitcoins and altcoins that I understand and believe in. Since getting on to Steemit, I have also decided to invest in STEEM and feel that this is among the best investment decision in altcoins that I have made. I am so happy to be part of this platform and community and I want to see this place continue to grow and do well! STEEM to the MOON!

3. Pretty Earrings

I have never really been a person who wears a lot of jewellery and since having babies I wear even less. But one thing that I do make an effort to wear is earrings. I feel that earring give my face a little pick me up and add character to what I am wearing. Plus I feel it is a little more difficult for someone to steal my earring compared to a chain that they can just pull and run away. My ears used to be so sensitive that I could only wear pure gold. If I attempted anything else, I would wind up with swollen and puss ridden earholes which would itch and hurt for days. Nowadays it would seem that my tolerance level for costume jewellery earring has risen and I can manage a full day without experiencing too much discomfort. On the other hand, I have a friend whose husband owns a jewellery business and she went from being able to wear costume jewellery to only real jewellery. We always joke about it when we see each other.

4. Being a host and hosting people into my home

I always like the idea of having people over to our home. Welcoming them, feeding them and just generally spending time chatting. I hope to be able to do that soon once our home gets sorted out. So much to clear out and change around. Another project this year maybe, part of it is decluttering too! Soon...

5. Spending time with Hubby alone chilling without the kiddos, though I do love spending time together with them too!

It's difficult to really make time, with work and young children. So much to do and there just aren't enough hours in the day. Really have to make an effort with this one. Plus all these Steemit related events aren't helping!! 😝😵 We did initially agree to meet weekly on a Wednesday afternoon just for lunch and a chat but eventually, that kind of got pushed back into the burner and got incinerated! Ideas on this one?

5 things I really dislike

1. Getting itchy spots and rashes all over my body

I have sensitive skin generally. The slightest irritant and it will turn red, welts will come up and I would probably scratch like crazy. I also have dry skin so when my skin gets extremely dry, the same things happens. If I touch something that doesn't agree with me, the rash pops out! Sometimes, it a type of cloth or material, sitting on a wooden chair, leaning my arms against a table...really it could be anything. I make sure that I carry a few things with me always. My stash of anti-histamine pills, a bottle of tea tree essential oil and my itch relieving moisturising cream tube.

2. Buying mineral or bottled water

Only because I feel like they are such a waste of money!! We could easily fill up a water bottle from home and take with us. You not only save money but also the environment. I read somewhere that one PET mineral water bottle takes 700 years to decompose! Yeah, no shit! 700 years...

3. Lukewarm Coffee ☕️

I like my coffee hot and fresh. Sometimes, I even go as far as to tell the barista to make my coffee extra hot! I know, my coffee connoisseur friends will yell "sacrilege!" because the beans might get burnt in the process. But I always tell them, if you are a good barista, you would be able to just push it right to the edge without burning it! Seriously, if not why call it a "hot beverage"? Duh! 😏 This is also where my Nespresso machine gets me a cuppa without any fuss.

4. Being Chubby...ok ok FAT!

This is pretty much self-explanatory! All my clothes don't fit anymore and I look like a baby elephant in photos. So there!

5. Bad Smells

I am really a smell type of person. Smells affect me greatly. I actually feel and get physically ill if I am exposed to strong and pungent unpleasant odours. I would immediately get a headache and would feel like vomiting. When I discovered Essential Oils I knew, it was something that I would use and continue to use for a long time. I love the clear, pure and beautiful smells of the different plants in a good quality bottle of essential oil. Depending on which oil I use, it really does make me happier, calmer and more centred! I also like the fact that it is all natural and can be used to treat a myriad of health concerns.

So there you have it, some of my loves and peeves. I would love to get to know the following people better! Tagging @adityajainxds, @silverd510, @steemflow, @kaerpediem, @buzz.lightyear, @littlenewthings, @orangila and @francesaw so looking forward to reading about you guys and girls!
