Since the first flute I made didn’t turn out as well as I had hoped, I sat down yesterday morning and knocked another one out in less than an hour. It went significantly faster with all the things I had learned from the first round:
Gently center-punching my marks for the drill bit to ensure they were closer to spec:
Drilling pilot holes (and stepping up the bit size gradually) to make things cleaner and more accurate:
And the result was sooo much better!
