Yesterday, the Singapore Budget was announced in the parliament. The GST, that's Goods and Services Tax, will be raised from 7% to 9%. Not now, not next year but between 2021 to 2025. There were signs that it will be raised before the announcement. Some expected it to go to 10%. Are we supposed to be happy with 9%? I don't know. I think, it's the retailers going to be happy. Especially those selling big ticket items. I think people will be buying them before the GST increase. Taking loans maybe. This should be good for the banks. How about buying some more bank shares?
昨天，新加坡财政预算案在国会宣布。消费税7％提高至9％。不是现在，不是明年，而是2021年至2025年。在宣布之前，有人猜将会升到10％。我们应该快乐吗？我不知道。我自知道零售商会很高兴。特别是那些卖贵重的物品的。我认为人们会在消费税增加之前购买它们。也许还会贷款。这对银行应该是有益的。不如再买多点银行国票。
