The [CLAIM REWARD] button appeared recently and there had been a few posts about it. I first read about it here:

At first, I thought it could have been an April Fool post but then think not and waited patiently for a few days before mine appeared but thoughts of “Why, why, why do we need to claim our reward?” I wasn’t the only one. See the post from @runridefly here:
Really stupid question, but will we have to sit here and claim rewards all night?





Now after the comments from @etcmike, I understand the intent but not the logic. Or, is it I understand the logic but not the intent. Yes, still bit confused but you can see the comments in that post here:

Now, my attempt to explain it in a simple hopefully layman or laywoman (if there’s so a thing. OK, don’t go hmm…. on me).

Now, your wallet is really your wallet. So…
When you want to "withdraw" your “pay” from your “steem bank account”, the Steem starts showing up in your wallet.
