Lenticular clouds around Mt Shasta

Around Mt Shasta in northern California, one can regularly observe lenticular clouds.

The photos in this post are from a few days ago when the sky was particularly active with lenticular cloud formations appearing and disappearing. I drove around to find interesting locations to photograph the mountain, and each time I got out of the car, the sky had changed.

Conventional belief is that these are simply natural weather phenomena, but the spiritual community here sees them in a wider perspective. Whenever I see them, I feel a sense of awe and peacefulness. Many times a singular cloud appears above Mt Shasta, but sometimes they appear in a different locations, (relatively) far from the mountain. And sometimes, like this day, they appear in formations. It was early in the day when I saw the largest formation and unfortunately I didn't stop to take a picture (I was driving my son to school, so I was on a mission) then. Just a few minutes later the scene had changed already and there were not as many individual clouds left.

I drove to the north side of Mt Shasta (my favorite area because it's a high desert with many good views on the mountain itself). When I got out the car, the many smaller lenticular clouds were mostly gone but a single one had formed above the mountain.

And a few minutes later a few others materialized as well.

By the time I got back home around noon, most lenticular clouds had dissipated and the sky as a whole was very active. There was one huge formation that I saw as I was driving on the freeway but I wasn't in a position to stop, and once I got off the freeway, only a ghost image of that formation remained (to be seen here to the right of the mountain).
