Real News Crazier than Comic Books - Elon Musk and 116 Specialists from 26 Countries Call for Ban on Use of Killer Robots, Seriously

Sometimes a news headline is so catchy that your mind creates the story of what is going on.  Make no mistakes, the killer robots that are in question probably do not look like Terminators or Robocops, but more so like a sentry gun from a video game taped to a drone, and that should be scarier because it is a lot more real.  CNET writes:

The CEO of Tesla Motors and SpaceX joined 116 specialists from 26 countries warned in a letter that the use of autonomous weapons could usher in the "third revolution in warfare"

Real life Tony Stark along with a pretty large specialized team should be listened to.  The team sent an open letter to the UN which The Guardian posted portions of, enjoy this tasty piece:

"Once developed, lethal autonomous weapons will permit armed conflict to be fought at a scale greater than ever, and at timescales faster than humans can comprehend.  These can be weapons of terror, weapons that despots and terrorists use against innocent populations, and weapons hacked to behave in undesirable ways. We do not have long to act. Once this Pandora's box is opened, it will be hard to close."

There is not much to add to this news other than you just hope the UN will heed this warning and the general public will attempt to keep themselves informed.  While looking like something out of a movie with a humanoid look may not be as effective as just strapping guns to drones, as you can see by this video below released just a few months ago by CNNMoney, the killer robots that look like Terminators are still in production:
