HI! :)
After one of the most gruesome editing sessions I've had, I have an honor to exhibit you the Windowsill plant number 2: Kultasiilikaktus... eh, more better known with its English name, Teh Golden Barrel Cactus.
Echinocactus grusonii surrounded by beeswax candles
Camera body: Canon EOS 550D
Lens: EF-S18-55mm ƒ/3.5-5.6 III
Focal length: 35.0 mm
Aperture: ƒ/11
Exposure: 0.3 s
ISO: Dual-ISO 100+200
I can't understand why it is so hard to edit away a purple haze behind a picture. I hate it when that happens. One can't really check if a photo has something like before bringing the photos into an editor. And then it's a major pain to get rid of. Oh well... The photo still looks pretty cool.
I shot the cactus because it was reasonably small. I'm still wondering how to photo the big plants. Well maybe it'll come to me tomorrow...
Anyway, the candles are made by Leo himself, using sheets of beeswax and wrapping them around the candle wick. I recall he made the candles some years ago. You can see the dust on the candle holders, it's like they were brought from some old dusty castle just for this occasion. Or that I am a lazy bastard when it comes to cleaning things up before shooting them. Either way, they seem authentic enough.
See you with another photo, tomorrow! :)
