PayItForward Week 17 - My Entry

 This is my entry for the Pay it Forward Contest Week 17

@thedarkhorse suggested doing a LOOK BACK post as well, but considering I just found this contest and curation initiative last week, that's not going to really accomplish anything.....

Contest overview (check the contest post for official rules.)

The Pay it Forward Contest is a way to identify users who are not quite getting the attention that they deserve and hopefully get them a little closer to their goals on Steem.  The Contest was started by @darkhorse and looks like it will transition to @pifc next week (so be sure you are following both). The contest has a load of supporters:

@thehoneys @bengy @andrewharland @el-nailul @kaliju @erodedthoughts @tryskele @lynncoyle1 @energyaddict22 @wolfhart
And there are probably more, sorry if I missed anybody....

The Basic Pay It Forward Contest Rules

  • Nominate 2 bloggers
  • The 2 bloggers need to be rank 55 or below
  • The bloggers you nominate need to be creating quality content.

Nominations

It's going to be hard to follow up last weeks win featuring two awesome people @janton and @rentmoney, but I enjoy the Pay It Forward concept, so I'm going to try.  So why do I like the PIFC, I want to show appreciation to people I have connected with or that seem to be doing a great job on steemit, but My little dust vote just doesn't cut it yet.  It's one of the things I had ingrained in me to thank people, be generous, and show appreciation.  My upvote my not be what I want it to be but I can put in a little work on a post like this and maybe make up for it.

I think I found some gems this week, here two steemians who are putting in the effort but may not be getting the recognition they deserve yet.  One has been here for a couple months and one has only been here a couple weeks. Well, enough rambling, on to the show.

Entry #1

@hippie-witha-gun  The wild and crazy, rainbow-hat wearing, gun-toting, silver loving, homesteading, activist himself...  Let me warn you hippie-witha-gun is crazy, but a good kind of crazy.  We've had a couple conversations, and I've had some good laughs watching him.  He has also had the pleasure of meeting and being interviewed by the illustrious Papa-pepper.  Hippie-witha-gun's posts are a mix of homesteading, activism, nature and pretty much what ever comes to his mind, which is always entertaining and funny.

His last post, Check out this Pandora Sphinx Caterpillar I found!  is a great example of finding something that intrigued him and turning it into a post to share what he has learned, and have a little fun with.  He went a little deeper on this one and did some research and found pictures of the eventual form of the Pandora Sphinx Caterpillar.  The post is great, but he also engages well with his commentators, which is usually good for a few laughs.

Entry #2

@sugarcreek is an off-grid homesteader, taking care of a sizable homestead, gardening and some critters.  I think I finally found someone on here that talks like people around my house. I went though several posts, and I have to say i'm impressed.  She's been on the platform for about 14 day and has pulled off 16 great post and over 150 comments, Plus she uses real english in her posts, not that yankee style english most people on here use....  I don't know precisely where she lives but I figure(that's a southern word for think) she would fit in well around where I live.

Sugercreek's posts are quite a mix, some with animals, some homesteading musings, and some more personal touching caring posts.  Her latest post Keeping Up on the Homestead  probably fall just short of the 200 word minimum so I'm going to go to suggest her The Guinea Keets went Offgrid!  post.  It's a brief post about having to take over care for a bunch of keets (baby Guinea for those who don't know).  She does a great job of mixing in humor, and a little personal flare to give you an idea what it takes to care for the keets, plus the keets are just plain cute.
